Orlando Bagwell is a producer and director, known for Hymn: Remembering Alvin Ailey (1998), Frederick Douglass: When the Lion Wrote History (1994) and When Loud Music Turned Deadly (2014). Bagwell is also a professor of documentary and director of UC Berkeley J-School’s documentary program. One of the foremost documentarians of his generation, Bagwell brings a career-long commitment to producing distinguished documentaries of his own as well as nurturing the work of aspiring filmmakers.
