Katherine (Katie) Wu is a PhD candidate in the laboratory of Dr. Eric Rubin at Harvard University, where she studies how bacteria deal with stress so that she can one day learn to do the same. She obtained her bachelors and masters at Stanford University, where she studied biology and creative writing. For the past two years, she has served as Co-Director of Science in the News, a graduate student organization dedicated to making cutting-edge science accessible to the general public and training student scientists to better communicate their work.
