We, Ceremony is a digital platform founded by Iliana Panameño and Mu-Chieh Yun that uses narrative storytelling to empower, celebrate, and create representation and opportunities for women of color. Featured authors Chardline Chanel-Faiteau, Zubeda Khan, and Lydia López - three women of color leaders in Boston - discuss the launch of We, Ceremony's first e-book: Liberación/Liberasyon/Libertação/解放: Unapologetic Women of Color.

+ BIO: Chardline Chanel-Faiteau

Chardline Chanel-Faiteau is an advocate, blogger, and style curator for plus-size fashion. Chardline shares her experiences and resources with other plus-size women, especially on the topics of beauty, fashion, health and fitness. She actively works to bring awareness to the underrepresentation of plus-size women in mainstream media. Chardline also advocates for people of color through her role at Office of Fair Housing and Equity and work as an urban planning graduate student.

+ BIO: Lydia López

Lydia López is a Scattered Site Stabilization Advocate at Fenway Health. López draws on her own experiences growing up in an El Salvadoran immigrant family in her work with Spanish-speaking immigrant and LGBTQIA communities. She emphasizes the need to dismantle anti-blackness and challenge biases within communities of color. In 2015, she was selected to participate in the New Sector AmeriCorps Residency in Social Enterprise. López has also volunteered and worked with organizations serving Spanish-speaking communities, including La Comunidad, Massachusetts Immigrant and Refugee Advocacy Coalition, and Project citizenship.

Zubeda Khan is a blogger and works at Malikah as an advocate for Muslim women. She is committed to empowering Muslim women and promotes self-love as a form of resistance. She frequently discusses cultural identity, religion, and mental health. Zubeda is an advocate for cultural diversity, ethnic self-love, and the politics of identity for people of color.
