Brian Turner, Soldier and Poet

Poet Brian Turner discusses how his experiences as a soldier influence and inform his poetry. Turner served seven years in the U.S. Army in Bosnia and Iraq, including one year as an infantry team leader in the 3rd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division. He is the author of two poetry collections: Phantom Noise and Here, Bullet, which won the 2005 Beatrice Hawley Award, among other honors. Presented as part of the Lowell Humanities Lecture Series.
