In Search of Our Ancestors: What Mummies Tell Us
February 1, 2002
Heather Pringle writer, editor, Discover magazine
They're not just characters in horror films or objects in museum displays, mummies and the information they carry about ourselves are found all over the world. From the child mummies of northern Peru to the 'bog men' of northern Europe, ancient Egyptian mummified pets to today's mummification services available on the Internet, these vestiges of the past are a wealth of biological, cultural, and spiritual information.
