Jose Masso and others discuss the opportunities and challenges that Boston arts organizations face in engaging with our diverse communities.

What does cultural participation look like in various ethnic communities in Boston? What are the opportunities and challenges that arts organizations face in engaging with our diverse communities? This forum begins to explore these questions in a dialogue about race, class and cultural participation. Included in the discussion are two major themes: diversifying participation by creating relationships, rather than events, and the fact that pre-existing power imbalances make relationship-building challenging.
