Meet the Poet: Crystal Johnson
June 2, 2003
Crystal Johnson poet, writer, youth activist
Poet Crystal Johnson performs her poem "Millennium Blues" at a community forum sponsored by the ACLU on their recently released report on Disproportionate Minority Confinement.
Crystal Johnson has lived in Boston for 13 years as an advocate and activist for youth and their families. In addition to being a provocative poet, rejecting any categorization as "corny and condescending", she is a compelling author of the recently published Soul Sister's Diary, A Collection of Short Stories and Poems with Cynthia Simmons and Kathy Andrews.
