Language as Sacrament in the New Testament

November 1, 2007
Franz Wright writer, Pulitzer Prize 2004

Pulitzer Prize winning poet Franz Wright explores the idea of language as sacrament in the Christian scriptures, as well as the poetic forms used by Jesus in his teaching. He also reflects on the possibility of religious poetry in our own unpropitious time.

This is the second Amos Wilder Lecture in "Scripture and Literary Arts". This event is possible thanks to a gift from the Wilder family, and to the cosponsorship of the Howard Gotlieb Archival Research Center.
