Is Global Warming Impacting North Atlantic Right Whales?
May 22, 2007
Robert Kenney adjunct professor, oceanography, URI
Bob Kenney argues that global warming will ultimately affect the food supply of the already endangered North Atlantic right whale.
Global climate change has been in the news a lot recently. Our planet has gotten warmer over the last few decades, and it's going to get warmer still in our lifetimes and our children's and grandchildren's. How will that affect the critically endangered North Atlantic right whale? Can it survive in a warming ocean? The question is not a simple one, because the impacts go far beyond simply warmer water.
