In March 2003, the Rennie Center sponsored a public event to discuss the Commonwealth's strategy for supporting students in the Class of 2003 who would not graduate because they failed MCAS. A year later, a panel looks at student options that were instituted by the state to support these students and help them to meet the graduation requirement.

What policies and programs have been put in place to support students who did not pass MCAS and did not graduate?

In what ways are policies and programs best serving target populations as students strive towards mastery?

What are some strategies for better enabling the state government and local educators to collaboratively provide ongoing support for these students?

What policy issues and data questions require further clarification?
