David Giffels: All the Way Home

David Giffels discusses his new book about his real life adventure, All the Way Home: Building a Family in a Falling Down House with radio host Dan Moulthrop.

Picture this: a mansion with half of a roof, where rain finds its way through a bedroom to the living room, where trees and all sorts of furry critters have set down roots in the attic. It's hardly a dream home unless you've got a lot of imagination and your name is David Giffels. Then, it's the challenge you have been looking for your whole life. The Akron Beacon Journal columnist writes of this adventure in his new book All the Way Home: Building a Family in a Falling Down House. He says the home improvement journey taught him as much about being a father and a husband as it did about tuck pointing.

A story of dreams and hopes, of ghosts and unexpected deaths, of how to use a Fender Stratocaster to get squirrels out of your crawl space; this also the story of a marriage that survives the whole ordeal.
