Boston Italians: Pride, Perseverance, and Paesani
May 1, 2007
Steve Puleo historian
Steve Puleodescribes shares his research on and experience of Italian immigration to Boston. Early Italian immigrants to Boston recreated their own neighborhoods in Boston's North End, and battled poverty and discrimination. Drawing from primary documents, oral histories, and his own family background, Puleo examines the lives and accomplishments of Boston's Italians, both historically and today.
Steve Puleodescribes is the author of The Boston Italians: A Story of Pride Perseverance, and Paesani, from the Years of the Great Immigration to the Present Day and Dark Tide, the Great Boston Molasses Flood of 1919.
